If Shakespeare Wrote Content!

“Shall I compare thee to a summer’s
day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate.” – Ah those heartfelt
words from Sonnet 18 resonate with everyone who has ever been in
love. The Bard wrote love quotes like I consume sweeties – with unbridled passion and
pleasure.

But what if he had not been a prolific
16th century poet and play write? What if had been born
in the 80’s and grown up in suburbia? Maybe he would have been a
journalist, or a copywriter – still commentating on the world
around him, but in a more immediate and modern way? Or better still,
we could twist this round to imagine not that he changed how he
wrote, but more so what he wrote.

Say, for example, he wrote modern pop
songs, perhaps we can imagine they would look a little something like
this

Or perhaps he would have taken up a position as a software developer, writing Java script and coding websites.

Or imagine, if you will, he was a script writer, or a film producer! Maybe he would have written Star Wars like this…..

Who knows what he would have written, but you can bet he would have been great at it. The many works of Shakespeare have been powerfully engaging with audiences for centuries now, and with or without his beloved iambic pentameter, he knew how to tell a story that kept you reading right until the end. And that, my friend, is exactly how all copy should be written.

In

I've been working with Green Tornado for just over 5 years.
